The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced the date for its 5th National Quiz Competition for Secondary Schools in the Federation as November 10, 2014.
The annual competition for Secondary School students tagged “Catch ’em Young’’ was initiated as one of the the Commission’s strategies for imparting knowledge and understanding of the capital market in young Nigerians – an approach to ensuring that a culture of saving and investing in the Capital Market takes root in young Nigerians.
This was contained in a statement made available to The Nigerian Times by the Commission.
The competition is structured to hold at three levels namely, state, zonal and national levels.
“At the State level, six schools from each state will compete to produce a winning school that will represent it at the zonal level. This level holds from 10th – 12th November, 2014.
“The zonal level competition is the second elimination stage where the winning schools from each state will slug it out to come up with a winner to represent the state at the national level. This stage is slated for 14th November, 2014.
“The final stage is the national level which is the grand finale of the competition where the overall winner will be determined from the six geo-political zones of the Country. The grand finale will come up on 26th November, 2014 in FCT, ” the statement said.[share_this_post]
The competition is expected to start at 11:00 am – 12:30 pm each day at the state level and 9:30 am – 11:00 am at the zonal level.
Valuable prizes will be given to the winning schools, students and teachers at all levels of the competition.
